My Name is Leo Westby, and I am the guitar teacher and managing director of 'Lets Play Rock Ltd'.
I teach all age groups. My current students range from 4 years old to 57. (younger and older are welcome:-), Beginners to advanced.
I have always found that those that really want to play, will play, and play well, no matter what the age.
I have been teaching for 19 years, and also have many years experience of band and stage performing.
I am also a member of the RGT Registry Of Guitar Tutors.
The way I teach is by making playing guitar as much fun as possible, with a very different approach than other teachers :-) One students moto is 'No G'tar No Fun!'
No music reading is required. I make my lessons as practical as possible to be able to PLAY the guitar as quickly as possible. If music reading is required, there are many available sources which I can help with.
My method works very well, and I have had a great deal of success over the years.
Press releases can be read under the Press Reports Menu to show what some of the students have achieved.
My way of teaching is to try to get players to a high standard very quickly. That way they can play in bands etc within as little as a few months.
A great example is a 10 year I am teaching at the moment. He has been playing 6 months and is already fronting his own rock band! Singing and playing at the same time.
Its down to making playing challenging and fun, with lots of enthusiasm from me :-)
I also think its important to allow the students to play the songs/solos they want, mixed with techniques from me to keep them interested and always moving forward.
I can also arrange bands and performances, so that live experience is gained, if the student would like to give it a try. (highly recommended).
Recording is also available during the lessons if requested.
